About me

Hi, I'm Julie Your China Friend!

I live in Shanghai, and I grew up in a small city in Northeastern China, where I spent the first eighteen years of my life. From there, I moved to Shanghai for university and began the journey that would shape both my career and the way I see the world.

Later, I went to the University of the Arts London to study and then work. Between the ages of 20 and 27, I traveled to nearly 30 countries—some were study tours, some were field trips, and some were just crazy adventures!

Along the way, I’m deeply grateful for every person and place that crossed my path—they shaped how I understand both the world and my own country.
Over time, one idea became clearer to me: I want to help more people connect with China in a meaningful way.
During my time in London, I organized events around Chinese fashion, design, and traditional festivals. I also worked with emerging Chinese brands as they took their very first steps overseas. Crossing that 0-to-1 threshold is never easy, but I’ve always been fascinated by it.
After returning to China in 2024, I continued working with Chinese tech companies on global strategy and overseas marketing, sharing China’s innovation with the world.
My mission is simple:
The more perspectives we understand, the better we connect. I hope to make China a more meaningful part of your journey.
